Toto Wolff defends Max Verstappen over Mexican GP criticism with a fascinating ‘exploitation’ remark

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has defended Red Bull driver Max Verstappen following the latter’s performance at the Mexican GP. Verstappen was given a 20-second penalty for multiple offenses against McLaren’s Lando Norris.
Max Verstappen has stood firm despite being criticized by many for his motives against Lando Norris on Sunday. The Dutchman iterated that he would not make it easy for any driver to openly overtake him. Having said that, Verstappen also admitted that the RB20 lacks pace against its rivals.
Toto Wolff has supplemented Verstappen by saying that a driver will always push to the limit while racing. Wolff also asserted that a fierce competitor like the 27-year-old will always find ways to exploit the rules to his advantage.
Verstappen finished P6 at the Mexican GP despite the onset of a 20-second time penalty. He now looks forward to making a more fruitful increment for the Milton-Keynes-based team at Interlagos this weekend.
McLaren claims Max Verstappen’s clash cost Lando Norris the win at Mexican GP
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has bashed Max Verstappen for his fight against Lando Norris on Sunday. Norris started the race in P3 and was sure of challenging the Ferrari’s in terms of pace at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez racing circuit.
Andrea Stella claims that Norris powered through the field upon overtaking Verstappen during the initial stints of the race. Stella thereafter concluded, saying that the 24-year-old could have fought for the win if it was not for the Dutchman.
Irrespective of his duel against Verstappen, Norris was once again shaky during the start of the race in Mexico. He will now have to resolve these issues fast to give his rivals a tough fight in chase of the driver’s title.
