Mercedes bounced back in F1 this season after two woeful years in the ground-effect era. The Silver Arrows managed to improve their run in the last few races, with three wins in last five events. However, Team Principal Toto Wolff reckons that there is still work to do for the Brackley-based team as the sport returns from the summer break.
Wolff highlighted that Mercedes gained momentum right before the summer break with the W15 showing promising pace. The Brackley-based squad is now the only team apart from Red Bull to win more than two races so far this season. Toto Wolff asserted that the team needs to build on this progress in the second half of the season.
Before the summer break, we gained momentum with an improved car and better results. We will look to continue this progress in the final ten races of the season.Toto Wolff said, as reported by FormulaPassion.it

Moreover, the Austrian billionaire confessed that the Silver Arrows still need to make up some ground against the competition. Despite the three victories, Wolff pointed out that the Brackley-based team was still not fighting for wins at every race weekend.
However, we know we have some ground to make up and are not yet able to compete for victory in every Grand Prix.Toto Wolff stated

Certainly, Toto Wolff remains confident over Mercedes’ prospects for the second half of 2024. However, the Austrian billionaire understands that his team needs to keep working to potentially beat Red Bull and McLaren. Fans would be hoping to see the Silver Arrows try to clinch victory in Verstappen’s backyard this weekend.
