Boston streets chanted 'F**k Kyrie' after the Game 5 win

Coming into the game with a 3-1 lead against the villain of the organization, it was certain that Kyrie Irving would receive hostile treatment. The Boston Celtics fans booed Irving at the TD Garden ever since in the first quarter of Game 4. Hence, inevitably the crowd also taunted the star after their win.

The Boston Celtics fans were feeling confident from the beginning as their side dominated the Dallas Mavericks. The arena broke into ‘Kyrie Sucks’ chats each time Kyrie Irving was at the free-throw line. Therefore, it was not a surprise that the chants were taken to a different level after their win.

The Boston fans got on the streets to celebrate their 18th championship. As the crowds danced and cheered, they also did not forget to troll Irving as they broke into “F**k Kyrie” chants in multiple locations. The videos went viral on social media grabbing the attention of the netizens.

The chants were not surprising considering Boston’s relationship with Irving. The fans even burned Irving’s doll at the start of the series. Considering his below-par performance, Irving has no choice but to take all the criticism for being on the losing side.

Veteran announcer Mike Breen called out the ‘disgrace’ Boston fans

The “Kyrie Sucks” chats started in the first half which were motivated by Irving’s fall. In the second quarter, the Mavericks guard was doing his best to score for his team. In the closing minutes of the first half, Derrick White lost the ball and Irving chased it in order to get the possession.

However, the star lost control and fell near the broadcasting table and onto the courtside fans. As Irving was getting up the fan shared a few words with the player which were revealed by the announcer present at the table Mike Breen. The ESPN veteran called the conversation ‘inappropriate’ during the broadcast.

Irving was upset. I couldn't see who it was but somebody said something to him, inappropriate while the guy's down on the floor, which is a disgrace.

It is yet unknown what the fan actually said to Irving but the netizens suspected the words being ‘racial slurs’. The actual chat might stay a mystery but the viewers were certainly not happy with the exchange. It is safe to say that the Celtics fans did not leave Irving alone at all in the game.
