Tottenham Hotspur have finally found some stability in their Premier League season after a shaky few months. Spurs sacked their previous head coach Nuno Santo after less than 10 games and replaced the Portuguese manager with Antonio Conte.
Antonio Conte is a serial winner and one of the most respected coaches in the world. Since his arrival, Tottenham are still to lose a game in the league. The Italian manager had a meeting with club chairman Daniel Levy on his arrival and was told to assess the squad before the January transfer window.
However, the Italian is now ready to to outline which areas are required to be improved by the club. Spurs sit outside the top 4 in the Premier League but have 2 games in hand to their other rivals due to the COVID outbreak in the club.
Antonio Conte has brought stability into the group and has also brought back belief among the Tottenham Hotspur fans. The Italian has asked Daniel Levy to arrange a meeting for potential transfers and his objective for the January transfer window.
Antonio Conte’s strategy for Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for the UEFA Champions League:
The Italian was asked about how optimistic he was going into the game against Watford in the Premier League. Antonio Conte was also asked about he would try to get Tottenham Hotspur qualify for the UEFA Champions League as the London club haven’t come in the top 4 since the 2018/19 season.
Conte said,” We had a meeting 1 month after I took charge but I think it wasn’t the right time. Now I’m ready and I’m waiting for the meeting with the club to speak about this. The meeting can tell you everything but it can also tell you nothing.”
The Italian also added,” You make the qualification for Champions League in years, not in only 2 or 3 months or only in one transfer market. Football is not that way. I think in this moment there are important teams. It will be very difficult.”
Antonio Conte suggested that other teams above Spurs need to drop points and Tottenham have to be on their toes to be ready to take advantage of that. The Italian manager also suggested that Spurs need to make some changes and make the right signings.
Conte said,” To get a place in the Champions League someone has to fail, but it must be a big failure. I think there are four big teams, they are the favourites in this moment. Then there are other teams that try to build with important investment in this year to try to reduce this gap.”
The Italian also said,” It’s not only 1 transfer market. Football is complicated. You have to build. I’m here to do this but I know it will be difficult. We need time and patience to build something. Now I’m sure, after my evaluation in the last 2 months.”
