Bartholomew Ogbeche completes move from Mumbai City FC to Hyderabad FC on a year long deal
Hyderabad FC are already prepping for the upcoming HERO ISL 2021-22 season, as they add experience to their attack in the likes of Nigerian World Cup player Bartholomew Ogbeche, who was roped in from League rivals Mumbai City FC.
Ogbeche won the ISL double of the League Winner’s Shield and the prestigious ISL Trophy with the Mumbai based franchise Mumbai City FC last season, and will be signing a one-year deal with Hyderabad FC, which sees his at the club till the end of the 2021-22 season.

Bartholomew Ogbeche has a very good record in the Hero ISL since he moved in 2018, and his merit speaks for himself, and why he is so widely acclaimed. Ogbeche scored 12 goals in 18 games in his first season in the ISL with Northeast United FC, following it up with a 15-goal season with FC Kerala Blasters in 2019-20, as he continues to be the all-time top scorer for the two league teams.
Ogbeche spent the 2020-21 season with Mumbai City as he played a key role in their successful campaign, netting eight crucial goals in 23 games, as he lead his team to the ISL League winner’s shield and the ISL trophy.
Ogbeche is currently the third all-time top-goal scorer in the Hero ISL with 35 goals, boasting a 0.61 goals per 90 minutes stat in the Indian top flight.
“I am thrilled to have signed for Hyderabad FC. One could easily see from the outside that he (coach) has a clear idea about his style of play and what he wants from his players which is an admirable attribute that I find in him. I’m very excited to be playing under him.” Ogbeche said in his first interview with the new club Hyderabad FC.
“Helping Hyderabad achieve success by making it to the playoffs is going to be a huge challenge, but one that I believe can be achieved with the help of everyone at the club.” Ogbeche spoke of his targets with the new club.
“Ogbeche is a player that all football fans know. He has played in the top leagues in France, Spain, and the Netherlands, and even in the FIFA World Cup with Nigeria. He will be obviously an important player for our club.” said Hyderabad FC coach Manolo Marquez, who believes that Ogbeche’s experience will be a huge addition to the squad.
“These kinds of players are always necessary in a team. Ogbeche will be important on and off the pitch, and his influence will be bigger if the squad is young,” Marquez added.
