Al-Nassr coach Rudi Garcia claimed on Monday that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will not retire in Saudi Arabia. Garcia stated that “He will return to Europe,” when asked about Ronaldo’s future after his first two games. Ronaldo, who has not scored for his new club, since joining them over two months ago. He will be earning a reported £175m annually.

Before his surprise move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo spent his entire career in Europe, winning a record 5 UEFA Champions League with Manchester United and Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo began his career with Portuguese club Sporting where he quickly became their first choice winger. Ronaldo spent the majority of his career winning trophies with Manchester United and Real Madrid, before moving to Juventus, and later went back to Manchester United. His stint with United ended rather acrimoniously and that is when he joined Al-Nassr.

Since joining Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has been struggling to find his form, as he went goalless in his first two matches. His teammate Anderson Talisca scored twice in two games in which Ronaldo performed. After their loss against rivals Al-Ittihad, Garcia had criticised the 37-year-olds game. However, turning 180 degrees from his earlier stance, the coach said he has a firm belief in Ronaldo’s abilities, as he spoke confidently about the Superstar.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition as he helps clear defenders. He’s one of the best players in the world. He won’t finish his career at Al-Nassr, he’ll go back to Europe.” The Al-Nassr coach claimed, after Ronaldo’s goal drought in first two games.

After their shocking 3-1 defeat to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup, Ronaldo received criticism from fans for his poor performance in his first two games. Meanwhile a video went viral shortly after Al-Nassr’s defeat, in which a middle eastern man, who is reportedly Al-Nassr’s director was seen frustrated at the result.

“Get out of here. I spent 200 million euros and he (Ronaldo)only knows how to go ‘Siuuuu’. It’s not possible,” Al-Nassr director was spotted saying. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr fans are growing impatient for the Portuguese Superstar to show is abilities. The frustrated fans were reportedly trampling on Ronaldo’s No7 jersey after their shocking defeat.

Al-Nassr come face to face against Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League on February 3rd, and all eyes will be on the 38 year old veteran. Cristiano Ronaldo will be more than eager to showcase his abilities in the upcoming tie to silence his haters.
