Alves was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman on December 30 at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. The crime has a sentence of up to 12 years in prison, but it could be more after Alves’ latest shenanigans. Meanwhile, his wife, Joana Sanz, has recently been sharing her emotions regarding the situation on social media.

She posted a video of her crying, saying, “The feeling that you are drowning, that it hurts so much that you no longer want that internal pain, that you need to externalize it as a wound to heal it… But you can’t”. She has also spoken about self-love and acknowledging one’s feelings. Alves’ brother, Ney, has also gotten involved. He posted a message on Instagram, seemingly directed at Joana, calling her “evil” for divorcing Alves.
