“Should’ve been sacked long before”; “Management was trash”- Fans react as Leicester City sacks Brendan Rodgers after poor 2022-23 PL season
This is the 11th managerial sacking in the Premier League this season

Leicester City has sacked Brendan Rodgers as head coach earlier on Sunday. The decision comes after a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. It was also the Foxes’ fifth defeat in six Premier League games. The defeat also meant Leicester City dropped down to the relegation zone.
Leicester CEO Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha made the decision public as he stated: “The desired improvement has not been forthcoming and, with 10 games of the season remaining, the board is compelled to take alternative action to protect our Premier League status. The task ahead of us in our final 10 games is clear. We now need to come together – fans, players and staff – and show the poise, quality and fight to secure our position as a Premier League club.”
The Foxes have suffered a horrid season so far as they currently sit at 19th on the Premier League, losing 17 out of their 28 games. Their domestic campaign has also been nothing short of disappointment as they were knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup by Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, respectively.

Fans react to Leicester City sacking Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers getting relieved of his duties means the Premier League suffered its 11th sacking of the season. Some of the notable managerial departures this season include Steven Gerrard from Aston Villa, Thomas Tuchel from Chelsea and Antonio Conte from Tottenham Hotspur most recently.
Rodgers was appointed as head coach in February 2019. Since then, he has led the club to its FA Cup triumph in 2021.
Leicester now gear up for the final leg of the season. With 10 games left to play, and with the relegation battle being the tightest it’s ever been, the Foxes will hope to secure a spot in the English top flight next season.
