Ted Lasso’s fictional Premier League team AFC Richmond managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in their opening game of the season, the show’s second episode of season three revealed. Ted Lasso is a fictional TV show currently streaming on Apple TV+.

The show follows a football coach from the United States who is appointed at AFC Richmond despite having no prior coaching experience. But Ted’s optimism more than makes up for his dearth of coaching expertise and experience.

The show also follows the owner of the football team, Rebecca Welton, and the rest of the squad. Richmond’s success as they fight in the English top flight will be demonstrated in Season 3. The cast includes Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple among many others.

Fans react to AFC Richmond playing a draw against Chelsea

Chelsea have had a horrid season so far as they currently sit at 10th on the Premier League table with only 10 wins in 27 games. Graham Potter’s appointment has led to a scarcity of goals for the club as they look for solutions.

However, their winter signings have been fruitful as Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix have been immensely helpful for the team. They are also in the Champions League quarterfinals where they face the mighty Real Madrid after defeating Borussia Dortmund.
