Bayern Munich won 2-1 against FC Koln in the final match of the league. This victory helped them etch their names on the Bundesliga trophy for the 33rd time.
Borussia Dortmund were at the top of the table just before the match Bayern’s match started. But Dortmund bottled their chance of winning and sealing the title victory as they lost 2-1 against Mainz 05. This situation gifted Bayern with an opportunity to lift the trophy who were just points behind Dortmund. And Thomas Tuchel’s men grasped the most out of this situation with both hands.
The match was pretty tight until the very end. Both Bayern and FC Koln gave a terrific show to the fans. The atmosphere at RheinEnergie Stadium was quite electrifying as the fans knew that the match was a title decider.
Thomas Tuchel‘s men made a perfect start in Köln. Kingsley Coman firing them in front with a brilliant finish in the 8th minute of the match. Bayern veteran Thomas Muller nearly doubled the team’s lead in the 19th minute, but the shot got off the post. Another chance came from the ex Manchester City man Leroy Sane in the 45th minute. But the goal was disallowed by the VAR for a handball.
In the second half, Köln tried to come back. They nearly made it equalized but the Swiss shot- stopper Yann Sommer saved the lead of his team with a fine save. A perfect penalty scored by Denis Huseinbasic made the score line 1-1 in the 81st minute. And just when it was thought that Bayern have no chance to get back, Jamal Musiala scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to seal the trophy for Bayern Munich.

But Bayern snatched the title from the grasp of Dortmund as they won 2-1 against FC Koln. Fans have been celebrating all over after their club’s excellent comeback in the league. Many have taken it to the internet to show their joy. One fan wrote, “Only for the billionth year in a row eh”. While another fan wrote, “Jamal Musiala with the title winning exceptional goal”. And a third fan wrote, “we run this league”.
