Brazil footballer and legend Pele passed away after losing a long-fought battle against cancer. The 82-year-old was hospitalized for the past few weeks. No one’s prayers could save Pele in his last moments as he departed saying goodbye to his family in the hospital.
Pele‘s cancer had advanced to such a stage that he required assistance related to cardiac dysfunction. He went through numerous medical treatments to get his tumor removed from his colon. Nothing worked in the Brazilian’s favor as he couldn’t do a thing but wait for his end on his deathbed. Pele spent his last festive days with his family around him in the hospital itself.
“Almost all of them. Merry Christmas. Gratitude, love, togetherness, and family,” Pele’s daughter Kely Nascimento earlier captioned a picture of their family together at the hospital. Even his son Edinho was emotional as went on Instagram to give his father a tribute. Not just his family, but all of Brazil would be crying over the death of the best player their country ever had.
The former World Cup winner with Brazil was admitted to the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo. He was diagnosed with cancer and was under medical treatment since September last year.

The Brazilian star was just 17 years old when he made his international debut. By the time football evolved, FIFA gave Pele the title of “the Greatest” for the wonders he did with the ball during his career.
Pele won 3 FIFA World Cups with Brazil. He became the youngest footballer to win the title, as he was just 17 years old in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. The Brazilian was influential for his national team as he went on to become the youngest player to play and score in the finals of the tournament.
Pele is one of the greatest icons of this sport and will always remain in our hearts. The 82-year-old veteran saw everything in his career. He inspired millions of people in Brazil and set the foundation of football in the country. The fact that the best footballers of this generation, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, are still compared to Pele is a testament to his greatness.
