The Moroccan dream was about to get fulfilled until Thursday. Morocco topped their group, beat Belgium, Spain, and Portugal, and had to defeat defending champions France to make it to the final. Sadly, the journey ended with a 2-0 loss to the Les Blues. Morocco’s team has been rained with praise from worldwide; the list also includes France’s President Emmanuel Macron. He was reported to have praised Sofyan Amrabat’s role for the Atlas Lions and called him the best midfielder of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Moroccan side was extremely disappointed after the game as they lost on the biggest stage of their career. French President Emmanuel Macron celebrated his team’s win in the dressing room with them. He then went to the Moroccan dressing room to console the team. During the visit, he praised Sofyan Amrabat for his heroics and hailed him as the best in this tournament. The 44year old president was delighted with France’s win, with a well-deserved cushion, between the elated fans who were enjoying the success.

The president ran into the tunnel with his bodyguards and security and congratulated each player personally. At the same time, everyone celebrated and danced as it was their second consecutive final place after winning the last edition of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Everyone praised Morocco’s exceptional run in the tournament, and they believed to be the perfect finalists, if not the crown winners.

Moroccan fans initiating violence after losing to France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Fans chanted and initiated violence in France following their Win over Morocco in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Hundreds of cars paraded past the crowds sounding their horns and waving flags from the windows. French cops said “115 arrests had been made in Paris by the early hours of Thursday morning,” as per reports. In the French city of Montpellier, shocking and disturbing footage also showed fans setting ablaze chairs, fireworks, and rocks at riot cops – and climbing the landmark fountain in the area.

Riot forces were also blasted with fireworks in the French city of Lyon, while disputes and anger-throttled emotions broke out between fans in Nice. Chaos also erupted on the streets of Bordeaux. In Brussels, police deployed tear gas and water cannons after scuffles broke out and fans set fires in the road and threw fireworks. A 14-year-old boy was also reported dead during the whole episode in Montpellier.
