“I want to take up this magnificent opportunity,” Moises Caicedo reacts after £60m Arsenal bid
Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton in the Premier League, has stated on social media that he wants to leave the team for a "magnificent opportunity" abroad.
Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caiedo stated on Saturday that he wants to leave the Premier League club for a “magnificent opportunity” amidst growing talks of his probable move to Arsenal. On Friday, Brighton turned down a club-record £60 million offer from the Gunners for the Ecuadorian international. The seagulls are looking at prices upwards of $80 million for the talented midfielder.
Mikel Arteta is not the only person who is keeping tabs on Caicedo. London rivals Chelsea is also expected to join the race for the midfielder’s signature. Caicedo is averaging 1.5 interceptions per game with 1.1 key passes in the Premier League, justifying his demand in the market.
The 21-year-old, whom Brighton acquired for £4.5 million from Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle two years ago, has also drawn interest from Chelsea. The south coast club has maintained that Caicedo is not up for sale on several occasions, and their position has not altered. Caicedo did not say which team he wanted to join on Instagram, just that he was “happy to be able to bring in a record transfer price for Brighton.”
“The fans have taken me into their hearts, and they will always be in my heart, so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.” Since making his Seagulls debut against the Gunners in April 2022, Caicedo has been outstanding for the south coast club. Ironically, Caicedo said earlier this week that his full attention is on Brighton’s present campaign. “I handle well. You hear rumours here and there, but I only try to be focused on the club where I am now, the club that opened the doors for me to be playing every week.” Although Caicedo has been linked to Manchester United and Liverpool, neither side is anticipated to enter the battle to capture him before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Jakub Kiwior is signed by Arsenal from Spezia
Arsenal has completed the signing of Poland defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in a deal worth £20m. Since the 22-year-old is a center-back by trade, Mikel Arteta has alternatives in various positions. He can also play left-back or in defensive midfield. To make the Arsenal best XI, Kiwior will have stiff competition from Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Ben White in central defence. This relieves Mikel Arteta, as he will have options on the bench.
They recently failed to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, but Arsenal legend David Seaman reckons it will prove to be a blessing in disguise. Trossard, a Belgian who transferred from Brighton in a £27 million deal, is the only player Arsenal has acquired in January. Against Manchester United, the dynamic forward came off the bench and played the final eight minutes of regulation time. “They are going to help us. You saw Trossard is composed and confident already,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
According to The Guardian, Declan Rice “is leaning toward joining Arsenal” if he leaves West Ham this summer as predicted. The possibility of playing for Mikel Arteta, who has created ideas for how the West Ham captain might slot into his squad, is why Rice prefers to join Arsenal, the tabloid claims. For the first time since 2004, Arsenal has been heavily favored to win the Premier League this season.
