Kylian Mbappe opens up after 2022 FIFA World Cup final loss
Argentina has been crowned world champions after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup on penalties against France. Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick and became the second player to do so in the FIFA World Cup.
With 8 goals in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Kylian Mbappe earned the Golden Boot despite not being too happy to receive the award. Fans, famous personalities, and footballers from all around the world showed immense love to the Paris Saint Germain star for his incredible performance in the final even after being on the losing side.
Kylian Mbappe has broken his silence for the first time after losing to Argentina in the penalties. The French hero posted a heartfelt picture of himself with the Golden boot trophy walking away from the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The picture was captioned “Nous reviendrons” (We will return) pointing out that he and the French team will come back and this is not the end.
Kylian conveyed a straightforward statement to French supporters and the rest of the globe on Monday morning. The picture of the 23-year-old falling near the World Cup trophy on Sunday will undoubtedly become legendary over time. It was an impactful message for all he had contributed to the competition as the leading goal scorer and among the two greatest players on the field, partnering with Lionel Messi, with the championship match matching the two titans directly against one another.

Kylian Mbappe at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final
Argentina overcame France 4-2 on penalties after the tally was poised 3-3 in additional time, giving Lionel Messi his first FIFA World Cup victory and “completing football.” Messi netted two goals and Kylian Mbappe three for France. The sole other goal scorer for Argentina was Angel di Maria.
Argentina were up with 2 goals which seemed like the match was sealed. However, Kylian Mbappe scored two back-to-back goals in 90 seconds to get France back to race. Lionel Messi and Mbappe further scored a goal each to end the game 3-3 leading to penalties which the French team eventually lost.
Kylian Mbappe’s performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup was phenomenal and will be highlighted in the books. He received the Golden ball award for scoring 8 goals in the World Cup including a extraordinary hattrick in the World Cup final.
