Argentine forward Lionel Messi was recently honored with the Laureus World Sportsman Award in Paris. He has won this award for the second time in his career. Messi was presented with this award in Paris on May 8.


La Pulga won almost every award with Argentina in the year 2022 whether it be the FIFA World Cup, his seventh Ballon d’Or, or the FIFA Men’s Best Player of the Year. He completed football in 2022 once he won the World Cup.

So far Messi has had a good season with Paris Saint-German as he has scored 20 goals and provided 19 assists. And he is likely to win the League title this year also. La Pulga expressed his journey with the national team and with the club which was full of obstacles during an interview at the award presentation.

Lionel Messi said, “There were many obstacles along the way but I always tried to improve myself, with the support of my people. I am very grateful: I was able to fulfill my dream and that of an entire country. It took time to arrive but it was the most beautiful thing that happened to me; this award goes to all of Argentina. Thank you very much.”

Messi is back to training for Paris Saint-Germain

Recently Lionel Messi went to Saudi Arabia for two days on May 6 without informing the coach or the higher authorities of this action of his he was suspended for two matches by the higher authorities of the club.

Messi then released an apology video on the internet which went viral overnight. Fans were very happy with that video of his. And just six days after the suspension Messi returned to Paris. On 8th May before the awards, La Pulga was seen training alone as it was a day off for the rest of the squad.

In summer the seven-time Ballon d’Or will leave PSG and is not likely to next his contract with the French giants. Messi is currently linked with MLS, Al-Hilal, and Barcelona.


Where many fans are speculating about his return to Camp Nou Barcelona is also trying its best to bring back Messi but is facing many obstacles in its path. And till now Messi does not have an offer on the table from his childhood club. So for you, Messi to Barcelona a done deal has a big question mark.
