“Lucas, can you give me your shirt,” Richarlison trolls fellow Brazilian national Lucas Moura who returned from injury to play for Spurs U-21

Richarlison of Tottenham Hotspur was spotted at the club's last U21 match on Friday evening.

“Lucas, can you give me your shirt,” Richarlison trolls fellow Brazilian national Lucas Moura who returned from injury to play for Spurs U-21

Lucas Moura hasn’t played much for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspurs this season due to a nagging tendon ailment. Having accelerated his recuperation over the previous several weeks, the 30-year-old made another big step towards a return to first-team action Wednesday evening. Moura was seen playing in the U-21 North London Derby at Meadow park. Richarlison took the opportunity to ask Lucas for his shirt when he made his return to the field. The former PSG man also scored in Tottenham’s victory.

Nile John came in for Moura at halftime and scored a second goal soon after the hour mark to give Tottenham the victory. Lucas’ fellow countryman, Richarlison, was in attendance during the derby match.  Richarlison, a recent injury returnee, carried a personalized, tongue-in-cheek placard to show his support for Lucas on a night that offered a cause to grin for a Spurs crowd otherwise forced to endure another tough campaign to date.

Tottenham will play Preston in the FA Cup tonight before facing Manchester City in the Premier League the next week. Conte recently stated, “You know this is a club choice, and for sure, this is a difficult season for Lucas, but also for us.  To be honest, when we were planning the season, Lucas was a key player for us. But, from the start of the season till now, Lucas has only played one game, again with discomfort, in the Champions League against Marseille, and not the entire game with us.”

Moura’s future at Tottenham is unknown, with the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma likely to reduce his possibilities even further. The Dutchman has signed on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season, with Antonio Conte’s side beating off Everton, who had also been linked with Moura.

Football fans and social media users had reacted to Richarlison’s gesture of support and request for Lucas Moura’s shirt when the latter returned from injury. Some have referred to Richarlison as a vibe, while others have termed him the epitome of friendship.

According to Italian writer and transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, Antonio Conte will no longer be the manager of Tottenham Hotspur when his contract expires after the season.  “The news I can tell you with certainty is that Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham at the end of the season,” Di Marzio said on his L’Originale broadcast.

Conte guided Tottenham to a top-four finish and Champions League qualifying in 2021-22 before bringing in many new players during the most recent transfer window. Despite having played one more game than the Magpies and with the pursuing pack closing in on them, the team is now fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind Newcastle.

With Paratici’s future uncertain following his 30-month sentence by the Italian football federation, and the club bracing for a possible extension by UEFA and FIFA, further changes at Tottenham might be on the way in the coming months. The team is six points off the top four heading into Monday’s game against Fulham, and failure will see them drop below the Cottagers to sixth in the Premier League rankings.
