Former Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood, was yet again spotted with his partner Harriet Robson earlier on Saturday. After a turbulent two years when Robson accused Greenwood of s*xual assault, the duo got back together earlier this year. Robson is currently pregnant with Greenwood’s child. 

A few photos made rounds on the internet where the couple could be seen exiting an establishment in white outfits. It is said that Greenwood has decided to marry Robson in the coming days.

After getting his contract terminated by the Red Devils in 2021 following the Crown Police Department charging Greenwood with s*xual assault and toxic manipulation, things are starting to look bright. He was acquitted earlier in January by the CPS. It said that a vital witness has withdrawn their name from the case. Now, the word is out that the two are also planning on getting married.

Manchester United has also shifted from its earlier stance and is looking to incorporate the player back into the folds. Eric ten Hag and other players have already spoken to the youngster, according to reports. People close to the matter believe that the club will re-engage the contract if the player agrees to have a television interview discussing the events.

Why Manchester United might want Mason Greenwood back in their squad?

Manchester United terminated Greenwood’s contract swiftly after the player was accused by local law enforcement. However, now that the case has been dropped, the club has shown eagerness to get Greenwood back on the field. It certainly has to do with the current striker crisis Ten Hag’s outfit is facing.

Anthony Martial, United’s frontline striker has spent most of his season sidelined through injury. Wout Weghorst brought on loan from Burnley, has also found it difficult to rattle the net. This has resulted in the team depending heavily on Marcus Rashford for goals. Rashford has been prolific this season scoring 27 goals already, however, the overdependence may cost the team heavily in the latter part of the campaign.

Given that Greenwood is a perfect striker with abilities to score from both feet, it is not a stretch to think that Eric Ten Hag would want to have him to ease the striker draught in the team. Manchester United is currently in the market for a top-level striker and is linked to Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane. However, neither are expected to come cheap. Another concern with Greenwood would be the fact that the player has been out of football for the last two years.

If Greenwood can solve the striker woes at the club, it would not be something Ten Hag would want to sleep on. The Red Devils will next square up against Fulham in the quarterfinals of the 2022-23 FA Cup tomorrow.
