In a recent interview, Spanish singer Rosalia reportedly talked about her thoughts on football. Rosalia has said that earlier her favorite players were Lionel Messi, Zinedine Zidane, and Samuel Eto’o. But now it’s Pedri Gongalez and Kylian Mbappe.

FC Barcelona will wear kits featuring the logo of Spanish singer Rosalia during the Clasico against Real Madrid on March 19. Rosalia’s logo from her latest studio album, Motomami, will feature on the front of the match shirt. This is a part of Barcelona’s ongoing agreement with Spotify. Spotify gave up its place on the shirt during the first Clasico of the season, allowing Drake’s owl logo displayed on it.

The latest partnership will see the Catalan singer’s studio album logo adorned across the front of the kit. Barcelona will look to extend their lead at the top of La Liga to 12 points on Sunday.

Producing a play on the album’s name and the general term used for FC Barcelona supporters, the club tweeted: ‘Calling all MOTOCULERS – Gear up, Rosalia is on our team this #ElClásico. 19/03/2023‘. Barcelona added that they and Spotify picked Rosalia because it is a year ago this month that her album Motomami was released. It had set a record that had reportedly stretched the boundaries of contemporary music.

The 30-year-old singer, Rosalia, grew up in Barcelona. She is considered one of Spain’s most famous singers. Rosalia has won multiple career awards including two Grammys and eight Latin Grammys. She has twice been named Spain’s most influential woman by Forbes.

Supporters will be set back some £350 to buy a limited edition version of the shirt. An even more exclusive version will be available for £1746.25. Both starting teams for the men’s and women’s Clasicos will sign it.

The Spanish Federation has reportedly chose to side against Barcelona over Payments

The Spanish football federation has joined the long list of entities deciding to take legal action against Barcelona in the corruption case. Prosecutors last week formally accused Barcelona of making alleged payments of millions for more than a decade to a company that belonged to the vice president of the country’s refereeing committee. Judge ordered an investigation and anti-corruption prosecutors were handling the case.

Others siding against the club include the Spanish government, the Spanish league, Real Madrid, and more clubs. They will all be accused parties in the proceedings over the controversial payments that have shocked Spanish football. The federation said on Thursday it sent a report to UEFA about why it was going against Barcelona. It said it has been contributing to authorities and has started its investigation.

The Federation called for “serenity” in the world of football to “help reduce the tensions” surrounding the refereeing collective in Spain. The federation reportedly said, “This is not beneficial for football”. It then added that justice required time, and the alleged illegal actions must be proven first.

Barcelona’s payments became public last month. The club has reportedly denied wrongdoing or conflict of interest. The club reportedly said that it paid for technical reports on referees. But according to the club, they never tried to influence their decisions in games. Club president Joan Laporta said Barcelona was “the victim of a campaign to harm its honorability”.

Prosecutors said in court documents seen by the Associated Press that the payments by the club totalled up to 7.3 million euros from 2001-18. They said, “quantity was not justified because it was not foreseen in the statutes of the club nor approved by its general assembly”. But none of the accusers can prove anything due to the lack of evidence.
