Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola urged club fans to show support for the team, speculating that the team’s impressive run in Europe may come to an end someday. The Citizens have also been accused of violating the Premier League’s financial rules, and it comes as an additional headache for the club.

Pep Guardiola fears that the enthusiastic atmosphere at the Etihad has dropped this season, as he feels that the fans have taken City’s consistent performances over the past few years for granted. The Spaniard highlighted the importance of fans’ uninterrupted support for the team, claiming that the team’s winning run may not last forever. In such a situation only the fans might be able to lift them back up and inspire them to continue.

City have not failed to entertain its supporters since lifting 5 Premier League titles over the last 6 seasons. This is in addition to winning the Champions League last season. So, the Spaniard admits that consistency can vary, but urges fans to be hopeful. Moreover, Guardiola also expressed his faith in the current squad. He said:

Meanwhile, Manchester City have also been charged with breaching financial fair play rules over the past few seasons, and face an imminent threat of losing game points or relegation from the Premier League, adding to their worries. Although City fans came out in support of the manager, rival fans trolled the Spaniard for ‘begging’ in front of the club supporters to show more support for their beloved team.
