A massive fire broke out in Qatar near a fan village on Saturday morning, with some reports saying that a building under construction in the town of Lusail caused the fire. But the cause of the fire is still unknown, and fans are still trying to figure out the impact as the smoke continues to escalate near the fan village.
The smoke can be seen rising across the FIFA World Cup fan village of Qetaifan Island North, but the exact origin of the fire is still unclear, with some saying that the fire broke out at a construction building. Fans were worried that the village was on fire, and they got scared amidst this auspicious occasion of the World Cup.
Images have been released and it clearly depicts the fan village that has numerous canvas tents in the middle of the city of Lusail. The authorities have confirmed that the fire has been controlled and there are absolutely no casualties or any sort of injuries. Other fan villages were also reported to have come under fire and fans have criticized the infrastructure works saying that they are unfinished and overpriced.

Fans have been criticizing and bashing Qatar for their preparations and management of the ongoing World Cup saying that the villages they have been allotted to stay during the tournament are absolutely not well constructed and also unfinished. They have also said they the infrastructure is not well facilitated despite their huge spending.
The fans have described the metal container rooms described as ‘hell boxes’ and that they lack a lot of facilities and proper air conditioning. They also complained saying that everything in the city was not completed on time for this worldwide event and that it has been a letdown considering the buzz and the rumors that were been heard about this tournament considering it to be the largest in the world.
