Snoop Dogg reacts to rumors linking him to being Senegal’s coach at 2022 FIFA World Cup

Rap icon Snoop Dogg is one of the most respected rappers in the industry, which is known for violence and gang wars among them. Snoop is a jack of all trades with his CV consisting of titles such as TV producer, Screenwriter, Film director, etc but now he seems to be mistaken to have been linked to football in some stances (not his annual donning of famous European club kits).

Snoop Dogg responded to a tweet that contrasted him with Aliou Cisse, the coach of the Senegal football team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. There is a shocking resemblance between Cisse and Snoop Dogg. That was noted by Max, a Twitter user, who tweeted: “Why is @SnoopDogg the coach of Senegal?”

The tweet was noticed by Snoop who retweeted it with just a football emoji as his response. The American rapper is no stranger to football having been captured with the kits of European heavyweights such as Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, AC Milan, and the mighty Burnley during his World tours.

How has Snoop Dogg’s doppelganger managed Senegal national team?

Senegal coach at 2022 FIFA World Cup

Since 2015, Senegal’s coach Aliou Cisse has had 80 occasions to lead the team. The former defensive midfielder has also played 33 times for his country during his playing career. He started in four matches for the Senegal team in the FIFA World Cup in 2002. After losing to Turkey on that occasion, Cisse’s nation exited the tournament in the quarterfinals.

Infamously, Cisse missed the decisive penalty in the Africa Cup of Nations final which extended Senegal’s title drought until recently. After decades, the Senegal team now led by Cisse as a coach and talisman Sadio Mane defeated Eqypt to win the 2021 AFCON. It was the first major honor in Senegal football history and Cisse now leads the Lions of Teranga to their second successive World Cup finals.
