WATCH: “His forever home”- Twitter dances in joy as Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted signing autographs to fans in Madrid
Twitter fans react after the Madrid legend was spotted signing autographs
Cristiano Ronaldo was seen giving autographs to the fans in Madrid. The legend was driving his 1,600 horsepower Bugatti Centodieci, only 10 of which were ever produced. Arguably of the best players in the club’s history, the Portuguese icon did not find a fruitful ending at Los Blancos after moving to Serie A giants Juventus on a record deal. It followed with moves to Manchester United and ultimately at Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
However, the Madrid fans wanted him back at the Bernabeu after he was released from Old Trafford following a controversial interview criticizing the club’s management and lack of game time. The club’s record scorer was seen training at the facilities and expected to return to Real Madrid but a move never materialized. The club is currently having an underwhelming season and bringing back their star player could have overturned their hurdles.
The supporters of Santiago Bernabeu had a neutral relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo during his stint at Madrid. While they did praise him after putting up extraordinary performances, he was met with jeers and whistles after poor touches or misplaced passes. Considering his achievements both at the individual and club level, it was bizarre that the fans boo their star player. However, karma has hit back at the supporters as they have felt a lack of clinical presence since his departure with his replacements failing to live up to the hype and some even wanting him to return.
