The 37-year-old footballer arrived in Riyadh today and was unveiled in front of thousands of fans. Before coming onto the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo answered the media outlets’ questions during the press conference. While talking about his move to Saudi Arabia, CR7 mistakenly called the country “South Africa“, sparking headlines from day one.

For me, it is not the end of my career to come to South Africa (Saudi Arabia),” CR7 told the media while attending his first press conference with his new club. Ronaldo was talking about the quality of football in Saudi Arabia and Asia when he made this error. He believes that the football played in Asia is “different“, and that his career is far from over.
