Hollywood A-Lister Kim Kardashian recently attended Arsenal’s Europa League tie versus Sporting CP at The Emirates. She also attended Paris Saint-Germain’s home game against Rennes today. Arsenal lost on penalties, while Paris Saint Germain lost 2-0. There is speculation that the ‘Kardashian Curse’  might have spread to football.

NBA fans may be familiar with this frequently used phrase. The ‘Kardashian Curse’ occurs when men who date Kardashian/Jenner women have a lot of bad luck in their field. According to fans, many NBA players, including Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and James Harden, have been victims. While dating the Kardashian/Jenner sisters, these players could not win a championship.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is undoubtedly someone who is thriving despite the curse. The winger scored two goals and got an assist today after recently being spotted on a video call with Kim Kardashian and her children. Regardless, football fans will certainly be hoping that their club isn’t the one Kardashian visits.

The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League and look destined to win the Premier League after a 20-year wait. Paris Saint-Germain also comfortably leads in Ligue 1 and looks set for another first-place finish. Fans of both clubs will pray that the ‘Kim Kardashian curse‘ isn’t long-lasting.

The infamous ‘Drake Curse’

The Drake curse is a widely held belief that any athlete or team interacting with the Canadian rapper will lose their next game. Most of the time, Drake or the sporting celebrity post a photo of the two together on social media. The bad omens climaxed in 2019 when nearly everything Drake touched was a flop. The curse began in basketball and has since spread to MMA, soccer, boxing, hockey, and tennis.

Drake has had many famous victims. He showed unwavering support for UFC superstar Conor McGregor, continuing to hype him ahead of his 2018 UFC match against Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor was defeated in the fourth round by submission. In April 2019, the rapper took a photo with Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero. Manchester City lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur, with Aguero missing a penalty.

However, there have been instances where the Drake curse has been avoided. Toronto Raptors, the team Drake is the global ambassador of, won their first ever NBA in 2019. Tyson Fury also shook off the curse to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
