Defeated Lewis Hamilton after Mexican Grand Prix Concerned about Losing Title Fight

With the Mexican Grand Prix producing a favourable result for Red Bull, Mercedes are now under even more pressure with only 4 races left to go for the 2021 season. Max Verstappen took first place after a dominant race, while Sergio Perez took third on the podium in his home Grand Prix.
The two Red Bulls were split by Lewis Hamilton‘s Mercedes, who managed to hold on extremely well in what is considered a Red Bull strong hold. This means that Max Verstappen extended his lead by 19 points. Red Bull are also now within a 1 point reach in the constructors standings after Valtteri Bottas’ opening disaster failed to score him any points.
A dejected Hamilton looked defeated after the race, as the title seems to slowly be slipping away from him. Despite Hamilton finishing second, the spirits were low as four races left means that the time to catch up is very less.
Can Lewis Hamilton Still Win the 2021 Drivers Championship?
In a press conference Lewis Hamilton said according to gpblog.com, “There are still four races, there’s still… obviously 19 points is a lot of points and I think, was that your ninth or 10th win? So, you know, he’s had a lot of wins this year.”
Hamilton credited the superior Red Bull car, and is worried about the momentum that both drivers could carry into the remainder of the season. “I think today with their superior speed, if they were to carry that into the next ones then we may be in trouble – or we will be in trouble.” Hamilton said that he will be interested to see if the big wings that they used for the Mexican Grand Prix will be used again. The Brit hopes that even if they do, Mercedes should be closer to them for the last four races of the season.
