Lewis Hamilton has received a ton of compliments throughout the length of his career but this has to be up there with the best. Lewis Hamilton has already equaled the record for the most number of driver’s championships in F1. The Briton has seven championships under his belt and he could have made it eight last season but it was a case of so close yet so far for the former world champion.

Lewis Hamilton was presented with a different challenge in dealing with a aggressive Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion was way too aggressive for Lewis’s liking which seemed to have played in Max’s favor. But the best part about last season was seeing Lewis Hamilton keep his cool when everyone around him seemed to be losing theirs.

The driver’s championship seemed to have been dead and buried going into Silverstone last season. But the cream rose to the top in the time of adversity. He nearly pulled off a miracle even when he was not at his sparkling best. But still, he was able to help Mercedes win their eight constructor’s title. The Briton is one of the best we have in the sport and it has been the case for a really long time.

Gerhard Berger has been impressed with Lewis Hamilton, just like the rest of us, and has gone to compare him with the likes of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. Gerhard Berger said, “I don’t know if he would be aggressive like Max was, if this would work in the right direction.”

“For me, it was so clever the way how he sometimes gives way, not to crash, but get it back in another way. I just can see with all the experience Lewis has, he is very serene. He used his chances the whole time. Except Silverstone, he just was perfect.”

I still put Senna as number one. Because the charm of Senna and the personality of Senna was another level. But on the sporting side, I think Lewis is as good as Senna was.” As reported by motorsport.

Lewis Hamilton is definitely as talented as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. He has been racking up the performances week in and week out and we expect to see him in the sport for a really long time.
