Lando Norris takes a cheeky dig at Max Verstappen: can stop Carlos Sainz by brake testing

The term ‘brake testing’ seems to be the ongoing trend among the Formula1 drivers ever since Lewis Hamilton accused Max Verstappen of brake testing him at the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. In an interview with planetf1 Lando Norris in his own cheeky way told the media that he might test his championship rival, Carlos Sainz by brake testing him at this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
He further added that since it is only a 10-second penalty, he might use it in the race to gain an advantage over his rival. All this was said in good spirit, of course. Both Ferrari and Mclaren drivers are good friends off the track. So they can get into such things without it leading to any controversy.

The championship is turning out to be very close not only for the top two drivers but also for the 5th spot in the driver’s championship. The Ferrari and Mclaren drivers are locked in a very intriguing battle for 5th place in the drivers’ championship.
Currently, Charles Leclerc is sitting pretty in fifth place with one race to go as he is currently on 158 points, 4 points ahead of Lando Norris in sixth position, and 8.5 points ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz in 7th position. It is going to be very interesting to see who manages to come out on top at the Yas Marina Circuit. Ferrari and McLaren have been neck and neck all season long and all their troubles so far this season is going to culminate in only one driver getting the bragging rights at the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Constructors Battle
As far as the constructor’s battle is concerned the Italian outfit Ferrari is way ahead of their nearest rivals McLaren with an advantage of 38.5 points. Since the midway point of the season, England-based McLaren has drifted away from Ferrari, and as we come to the last race of the season a miracle of sorts is the only way in which McLaren can get the third position in the Constructors championship. The only consolation that they can get is if Lando Norris is able to finish above both the Ferrari drivers in the driver’s championship. This is certainly doable given the small gap they have between Lando and Charles who is slightly ahead at the moment. In order for this to happen, they would need a flawless race from Lando and make sure he is ahead of both Ferrari’s.
