Max Verstappen skipping podium celebration in Saudi Arabia GP
Saudi Arabia Grand Prix was not a memorable experience for Red Bull Racing as not only Max Verstappen suffered the third consecutive defeat against Lewis Hamilton but also their second driver, Sergio Perez was one of the five drivers who were not able to finish the race. As a result of which, the frustration in the Austrian team’s camp was high and even evident upon their ace driver Max Verstappen during the podium celebrations.
There is no denying that the previous race in Jeddah will go down as one of the most controversial races in the history of Formula 1 but sadly for Max Verstappen, it did not end with him being victorious. Now with Lewis Hamilton and him being tied on same number of points, an occurrence for the first time in 47 years entering the final race, Verstappen revealed just why he skipped the podium celebration in Jeddah.

What was opinionated by Max Verstappen?
Max Verstappen was labelled a ‘bad sportsman’ by some after leaving the podium before celebrating, and explained why he decided not to take part. Speaking to Sky Sports, he stated, as quoted by Mirror, “Because there was no champagne. It wasn’t fun.”
Having said that, F1 analyst Martin Brundle offered a different reason for why he believed Max Verstappen snubbed the post-race celebrations. “He walked off the back,” he told Sky F1. “He doesn’t want any part of that. He clearly feels very aggrieved he had to give the lead back — having offered the lead back, but there was contact.”
David Croft added, “Verstappen doesn’t want to celebrate on that podium tonight. If the gloves weren’t off before, they certainly are now.”
