“Otherwise Mercedes Will Run Away”: Max Verstappen Warned Red Bull

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen seemed to be cruising at one point in the 2021 Formula 1 Championship at one point. But the races in Hungary and Silverstone just ensured Lewis Hamilton to take back his lead before heading into the summer break. After many obstacles and difficulties the Dutchman seemed to have snatched back his lead from the clutches of the seven-time World Champion in front of his home fans in spectacular fashion.

However, when Verstappen was asked upon his morale and motivation to what led him to make a significant comeback after his victory in Zandvoort, he simply replied by stating that he already saw dramatic weekends in two previous grand prix and made his team aware upon the hurdles being faced on the race track.

What was Opinionated by Max Verstappen after Win at Zandvoort?

Max Verstappen stated in the post-race conference as quoted by GPBlog, “You shouldn’t look at statistics. You have to look at the race pace, not the results. That’s why I also thought, and I also said this during the summer break, we really need to speed up the pace because otherwise they (Mercedes) will run away with it.”

“We still need to be faster, but it’s going in the right direction. There are still a lot of different circuits to come. So, it will go both ways anyway. We have to keep pushing and keep developing the car and bringing new parts.”

According to the ace Red Bull driver, the team has improved since then, which was first seen at Zandvoort. Of course, this was not possible at Spa due to the weather conditions. At Monza, Verstappen will try to run further ahead of Hamilton and Mercedes with Red Bull and end the second triple header of the season on a positive note.
