Twitter Reacts As Max Verstappen Wins His First Race In The United States; Breaks Lewis Hamilton’s Monopoly In Austin

Red Bull’s superstar Max Verstappen registers his seventh victory of the season as he sweeps the US Grand Prix and wins the race in a very close encounter with his rival, Lewis Hamilton. After having a brilliant qualifying session on Saturday and starting from pole position, Verstappen lost the lead to Hamilton at turn 1 in the very first lap of the race but a brilliant strategy from Red Bull ensured Verstappen an amazing victory.

This win was also Red Bull’s 200th podium as both Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez secure a double podium for the Milton Keynes-based team, this victory also ended Hamilton’s dominance at COTA. On the other hand, Hamilton and Mercedes gave all they had and gave a very tough competition to their rivals but it just wasn’t enough at the end of the race as Max Verstappen was ahead of Hamilton by just 1.9 seconds.

With this win at COTA, Max Verstappen extends and doubles his lead in the World Championship as he now sits comfortably at the first position with 287.5 points to his name while Lewis Hamilton at second with 275.5 points. Coming into this weekend, 6 points differentiated the two drivers, while the difference is extended to 12 points.
