The end of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the 2021 season was not taken well at the Mercedes garage. The controversial maiden win of Max Verstappen was bought into question after the young 24-year-old Dutch driver took advantage of the late safety car period in which FIA’s processes were also looked upon and new changes in the F1 rulebook were said to be made accordingly. While it took Lewis Hamilton until the beginning of February to break his silence, Toto Wolff took almost a week after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

An FIA inquiry is still in place focusing upon the future of the FIA race director, Michael Masi due to his controversial decision causing chaos. Some reports suggest that his seat at the table could be replaced and the decision regarding the potential sacking of the race director has yet to be made.

Following this news, George Russell joined the Mercedes team after Valtteri Bottas left the team towards the end of 2021 season to join Alfa Romeo. Over the months, fans have gotten a chance to get a glimpse of the official videos and photos of George Russell in the black Merc suit and are excited to see the young lad perform.
