PGA Tour Golfer Angel Cabrera SENTENCED to 28 months shocking prison extension for his assault conviction

Angel Cabrera

Angel Cabrera has had a tough time following his assault on ex-partner Cecilia Torres Mana, who was allegedly involved with him between 2016 and 2018. He had already been serving the sentence of 24 months after his conviction. However, it looks like Cabrera didn’t learn a lesson, even the hard way, and got himself stuck in another dreary situation.

Angel Cabrera again behaved in a demonic manner, assaulting Micaela Escudero and earning himself an extension of 28 months in the prison. The latest extension however will be concurrent with the present sentence, which started the last July and would end 28 months from now.

Cabrera gave an apposite interview, mentioning that it has been a learning experience for him but emerged out completely antagonistic to his words according to the latest news build-up. “Many say prison is bad, but it’s not the case, prison has done me good,” Cabrera said during the proceedings, as reported by the local press shortly after the trial.

Decoding the charges on Angel Cabrera and the look of his past and future

Angel Cabrera has earned accolades to his name being the only South American golfer to claim victory at the U.S. Open or the Masters. After having the time of his life in his career, he faced serious charges, not from one but two of his former partners for assaulting them, including Torres’s claims of Angel trying to run over her with his car. This is a pretty serious matter, especially for someone having the kind of influence the golfer has.

It definitely raises the question of whether people of influence should live ethical lives and at least lead by example. Angel Cabrera has played with four teams in the International President Cup and has 53 professional wins to his name. Sadly, he was extradited to Argentina, his place of origin shortly after he was detained by authorities in Rio de Janeiro following the charges against him.

Cabrera right now faces a total of six domestic violence charges. He denied any wrongdoing and plead not guilty but has to start serving his sentence granted by the Buenos Aires court soon enough. The last Masters led to an unfortunate sudden death for the talented Cabrera against Adam Scott in 2013 and his conviction after July 2021 now presents a quite bleak picture of his future.
