Jay Monahan revealed the overhaul of the PGA Tour last month. Some of the changes that significantly alter the more traditional format are the players now participating in a 20- tournament schedule. The financial incentives for their inclusivity have also been introduced, bringing additional 20 million dollars to the table.

After the revelation of PIP being doubled to now 100 million dollars and the introduction of the Player Impact Program Criteria for selection, Greg Norman released a statement taking credit for pushing the PGA Tour to commit to a more refined form.

“The competition that LIV brought, the players should be thanking LIV — the Tour players should be thanking LIV. From my point of view, where I was as a player to where we are today — for the players within LIV and for the fans — it’s like night and day.” Norman added.

He said that PGA has it done as a reaction to the atmosphere created by LIV and that it’s LIV that now holds the future. It’s only a matter of time before we see what’s in the bag for fans and their preferences.
