“Oh, it’ll be odd alright”: Matt Fitzpatrick is worried as more than a DOZEN LIV Golfers set to play at DP Tour
Matt Fitzpatrick
The LIV Golf Series has caused quite the controversy since its inception, and it is concerning a lot of golfers- including Matt Fitzpatrick. Things do not seem to be getting better between the two anytime soon, as the golf world is facing a clear divide. The LIV Golf defectors have received sanctions and suspensions, which has led to lawsuits and new tours.
However, the LIV Golf players will be playing the DP World Tour, if not the PGA Tour– and the environment is going to be… sensitive to say the least. The DP Tour’s race to Dubai is coming true as they head to one of their biggest events on the calender- the BMW PGA Championship.
Now to be confused with the BMW Championship of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the entry list of the BMW PGA is out- and it is filled with LIV Golf Players. While the PGA Tour did ban the defectors from playing on the tour, the DP World Tour did not do the same, meaning that they can play in their tournaments.

Matt Fitzpatrick does not know how to act with LIV Golf Players
“It’s going to be odd seeing certain people, obviously, at Wentworth,” Matt Fitzpatrick said after his opening round at the PGA Tour’s Tour Championship Thursday. “That is going to be a bit weird, and obviously it’s a little bit disappointing.” LIV Golf players are still in contention for next year’s Ryder Cup, which is held by the PGA of America and DP World Tour, instead of the PGA Tour.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what happens [with the Ryder Cup],” Fitzpatrick said according to Golf.com. “Obviously they’re not quite in as strong a position as the PGA Tour are in terms of regulations or whatever it is. Yeah, I guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out,” concluded the golfer.
