Tiger Woods had his share of troubles and excitement since his 2021 car crash at PNC Championship this week. The Woods pair tied for 8th place as Fiji’s Vijay Singh and his son Qass Singh seized the Championship throne. Though he had to undo his name from a few events, 2022 surely was way better than his previous one.
Not only his fans but even Woods himself stated that this year went well compared to what he had to undergo after the accident. He states that 2022 is “one of the more rewarding years I’ve had in a while”. Very much true though. He also got to compete with his son this time around.
Charlie stated during the PNC Tournament that he saw what his dad had to go through, with medics, rehab, and games. He found “new respect” for him and something that he’ll carry on for the rest of his life. The duo was seen sharing carts during the tournament as both had similar leg problems.

Tiger Woods reflects back on his 2022 year
Charlie had “growing pains” in his left leg, while Tiger had plantar fasciitis on his right leg. Woods commented, “…we’re the perfect yin and yang; he’s got a left foot [injury], I’ve got a right foot [injury], so we’ve got two good feet, we’re good.”
Charlie said regarding Tiger, “I’ve found a new respect for him now after getting a very minor injury – I wouldn’t call it an injury; I’m just hurt”. “But just to see what he’s going through and how I have just a fraction of it … and it’s just cool how he’s gotten to where he is now after all he’s been through.”
Woods missed the cut at The Open Championship at St. Andrews in July because of his foot and later took part in The Match with Rory McIlory. Tiger said he felt good this time around and has definitely made “a lot” of progress.
Though his movements have improved, it’s still important to note how he is struggling to reach Point B from Point A. he’s been using carts, not only at the PNC event but also during The Match.
Woods added, “It was a tough year but also one of the more rewarding years I’ve had in a while. It was an incredible week just to be able to play with Charlie”. He mentioned how participating with his son was more important than focusing on rehab.
No doubt that his movement has put further pressure on his leg, as he himself stated that his 2023 schedule as of now looks bleak. On a positive note, Tiger Woods boldly stated that he is going to participate in all four Major Championships in 2023.
