It’s been nothing but an eventful 2022 year for Tiger Woods. Following his participation in The Match with Rory McIlory, he has now teed up with his son Charlie for the PNC Championship. What can be more important rather than spending some match time with his son?

Tiger in a recent interview clearly stated that, rather than waiting for his foot to recover, he’d risk injury and play along with his son. The time he spends with Charlie on the green carpet is much more important than resting at home.

Tiger was even seen taking shots of Charlie at the practice and discussing his moves. Speaking with reporters at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, the 15-time Major Champion stated, “You know, I don’t really care about that.”

“I think being there with and alongside my son is far more important, and get to have a chance to have this experience with him is far better than my foot being a little creaky.”

Forcing his foot into action can heavily damper his movement further, taking a longer period of recovery. Tiger Woods is not interested to pay mind to these minute details, as he is well aware of how his 2023 schedule can be messed up.

Despite the risk that carries with him participating in events, he is more than willing to do so for the sake of his son. His 13-year-old son who has mostly copied his mannerisms can be seen listening to his pro-dad attentively during lessons.

Woods stated, “I’ve got to get this plantar to heal and that just takes time. It’s not something that happens overnight. It’s going to take a lot of rest and healing and unfortunately, treatment. It’s a tough road.”

This tournament allows family members to participate along with the major champions. Last year the Woods pair fell behind John Daly and his son John Daly II. Though both father and son pair are limping on the field, Tiger laughing stated that Charlie is better than before, at least than him.

Tiger has been moving along in the cart for the tournament, especially for the 36-hole event. He even used the cart during The Match, but unfortunately lost to the Jordan Speith and Justin Thomas pair. Even last season he missed out majorly after his horrible accident in February.

He missed The Open Championship at St. Andrews and was forced to withdraw from the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. Although his injuries restricted his plays, they can never restrict him from standing alongside Charlie.

Tiger Woods commented, “Any time I get a chance to spend time with my son, it’s always special”. “And to do it in a competitive forum, the last couple of years have been magical, and to be able to do it again, we’re looking forward to it.”
