“Absolutely no chance”: Tiger Woods might announce retirement after 2022 Open Championships, says golf analyst

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has had quite the year since restarting his golf career after a dangerous accident that caused damage to his legs. Grunting and groaning through the tournaments this year, Woods has had quite a hard time putting himself through all three rounds of any golf course.

Woods looked confident at the 2022 Masters, and finished 47th on the course. He fought his way through 3 rounds of the PGA Championship before being forced to withdraw. Woods then went on to skip the US Open at the Country Club. He cited the reason as to better protect and prepare himself for the upcoming Open Championship.

After having an eventful yet painful year for the veteran seems to have put doubt on how much he can bear now. Woods has prioritised the Open because it is near and dear to his heart, having won on the Old Course in 2000 and 2005. It may however come as a surprise that the Open Championship may be the last of his professional career, especially according to Nick Bradley- a golf instructor who also serves as a golf analyst for Sky Sports.

Nick Bradley said the we could be seeing Tiger Woods retire very soon, maybe right after the Open Championship. This certainly caught the entire world’s attention. However people do not want the see their favourite golfer leave the grand stage and after all, it only remains a rumour still.

Twitter debates as supposed Tiger Woods retirement takes golf world by storm

Many fans and Twitter users were not particularly impressed by the rumour. The community was split between whether this was just a baseless rumour or whether Woods’ time is actually over. Most seemed to think that Nick Bradley was just creating unnecessary drama, and that Woods would not retire anytime soon.
