With this week’s post-WrestleMania XL edition of SmackDown headed towards a complete sellout, fans in the host city of Detroit are in for a good one. However, it seems like they’d remain devoid of an appearance from the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. A few hours ago, Waller, on his X account, was at a bar alongside his partner-in-crime.
The Aussie Icon tagged WWE while claiming that he and Theory wouldn’t travel to a “cesspool” like Detroit ahead of tonight’s blue brand taping. Waller and Theory claimed to have missed their flight on purpose, which was barely an hour to spare when they shot the aforementioned clip. The Oz grappler affirmed that since they hold the gold now, they’ve got some stroke and could do whatever they want.
The Moment Maker even mocked the culmination of Cody Rhodes‘ story last weekend and asked everyone to relish it for the third time this week. Interestingly, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis has yet to react to his tag title holders refusing to be there in-person. Fans are expecting to see a follow-up from Aldis, as he always keeps his head on a swivel.
Dear @WWE , Just letting you know your champs won’t be flying to that cesspool Detroit today. We do what we want now! No regards, A-Town Down UnderGrayson Waller on X
In Philadelphia at WrestleMania, A-Town Down Under was not fancied at all by the WWE Universe to come out on top. But they defied the odds to unhook those blue-themed straps. As a result, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles were finally split. Awesome Truth secured theirs for Raw, while Waller and Theory did enough so as to be recognized as champions for the first time ever in tandem.
What else is expected from SmackDown post-WrestleMania XL?
Tonight’s SmackDown will feature the fallout from what transpired at WrestleMania XL. Both Cody Rhodes and Bayley are advertised to appear on the show.
After closing the book on Roman Reigns, The American Nightmare is walking on air at the moment. This Monday on Raw, he had a peculiar exchange with The Rock.
The Great One claimed that Cody’s saga with Reigns might be over, but theirs had just begun. Rock even handed Rhodes something quite furtively.
On the other hand, Bayley also ousted Iyo Sky to capture the Women’s Championship on Sunday. The Role Model is all but set for what lies ahead of her. There’s more stuff to keep an eye on. Fans could expect some new faces to stir things up a bit as well.
