The Cayo Perico Heist update introduced new and exciting missions, activities and a whole new heist for players to do. It came with so many new activities to do on the water. Before this, players did not have much incentive to go on the water. The Cayo Perico heist changed all this. One such included activity is the hidden treasure cache hunt. This article covers the steps to find sunken treasure in GTA 5.

Step 1: Load up a public GTA Online session.

Step 2: Purchase a Kosatka submarine along with the Sonar upgrade. (Ignore if already purchased) Purchasing a mini-submarine is also recommended as it makes everything obtaining the treasure much easier but is not compulsory.

Step 3: Enter the submarine and get on the control terminal to drive the Kosatka.

Step 4: Activate the Sonar system.

Step 5: The treasure caches now appear as flashing chest-like icons on the map. Drive towards any of these treasure caches.

Step 6: Stop the Kosatka near a cache and dive underwater to collect it. Alternatively, the mini-submarine can also be used to collect treasure.

Step 7: Each cache gives $7500 and 50 RP when collected. There are 10 caches hidden around random locations on the map.

Step 8: New caches spawn at new locations every day. Players can collect all 10 caches every day to earn $75000 and 500RP each day.
