Mumbai Indians thrash Delhi Capitals in a one-sided affair on Saturday while chasing a paltry total of 111. MI opener Ishan Kishan won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his splendid knock of 72* off just 47 deliveries. Former India cricketers Aakash Chopra and Harbhajan Singh hailed the youngster for his brilliant batting efforts during the game.
Chopra wrote on Twitter: “About time we start taking Ishan Kishan’s name when the talk is about India’s next wicket-keeper batsman. Kid’s got talent…and skills.” Replying to him, Bhajji wrote: “Yeah super talented #IshanKishan @mipaltan he will surely play for India soon.”
Kishan’s latest fifty became his third of the season and sixth overall in the IPL history. The 22-year old has been in tremendous touch this year, averaging over 49 with 395 runs from 11 matches. Moreover, he has been striking the ball at over 143. His form flourished even more since the time he started opening the innings for the Mumbai-based franchise.

It wasn’t as easy as it looked: Kishan

Ishan Kishan smashed three sixes and eight fours during his unbeaten knock as Mumbai Indians crushed Delhi Capitals by nine wickets. This victory guaranteed a finish in the top 2 for the MI Paltan.
“It was not as easy as it looked. The ball wasn’t coming on so I had to keep rotating the strike and then take them apart later. It all depends on the practice sessions, and how you train. I wanted to keep my shape and hit sixes,” Ishan Kishan said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
“My mom must get the credit for the food she gives me, that makes me so powerful, and sometimes even I’m surprised how my sixes carry such a long way. I enjoy batting everywhere, wherever the management wants me to bat. At this level you have to be able to adapt,” Kishan added.
