IPL 2020 : “He’s an all-round package, a great inclusion,” Warner hails Jason Holder for match-defining effort
Jason Holder
Kane Williamson’s injury turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who discovered a match-winner in Jason Holder. Playing his first game in IPL 2020, Holder finished with figures of 3 for 33, his best IPL figures. Thanks to his efforts SRH restricted Rajasthan Royals to just 154. Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar’s half-centuries did the rest as SRH registered a comfortable 8 wicket win.
A great inclusion
SRH skipper David Warner lauded the big Windies all rounder for his contribution as he labbelled him a “great inclusion” to the side. Warner adds that the experience under his belt makes him an “all round package.”
“Jason adds strength to our bowling, his experience, he’s an all-round package. He’s a great inclusion,” said Warner at the post-match presentation.
SRH’s middle order which was under fire for their timid perfromances this season stepped up to silicnce the critics. Pandey and Shankar stitched a clinical 140 run partnership, the highest by an Indian pair and the 4th best in the history of the league, to set up the SRH vicyory. Warner is delighted to have them back on board. He stresses that SRH is a great defending side and they must stick to their strengths as they hit the back end of the cash rich league.
“It’s good to show people that we do have a middle-order. We haven’t lost early wickets before, so they haven’t got a chance. I have said in the past, we are a better defending team. You have to back yourself, no matter what, even in this cold weather and when the dew comes in,” Warner concluded.
