IPL 2020: Will Shreyas Iyer feature versus Chennai Super Kings? Here’s an update on his injury

Delhi Capitals (DC) have done well in IPL 2020 so far with 6 wins out of 8. However, the franchise has been rocked with injury concerns throughout the tournament. Skipper Shreyas Iyer is one of them who is currently troubled with a shoulder injury. DC will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in tonight’s game in IPL 2020.
DC skipper Shreyas Iyer got injured during the last game against Rajasthan Royals. He injured his shoulder in the second innings while fielding and Shikhar Dhawan took over as stand-in captain in his absence.
After leaving the field Iyer was not seen again. Shikhar Dhawan, when asked about Iyer’s injury, said,” He (Iyer) is in pain but the good thing is he is able to move his shoulder. I haven’t spoken to him at length. We’ll get the proper report tomorrow,“
Shreyas Iyer’s injury update

DC officials speaking to InsideSport said that Shreyas Iyer is still being assessed. But they cannot declare at the moment whether Iyer will be a part of the team for the next game.
‘He is being assessed, it’s not looking too bad at this stage but we can’t declare anything’, said the official.
DC have refrained from speaking about the fitness of captain Shreyas Iyer. It won’t be a surprise if Iyer misses out in tonight’s match with Dhawan leading the side once again.
Earlier head coach Ricky Ponting was confident of his side performing well in the upcoming games.
“I told the boys I just want to keep them switched on for another week – we have got to keep pushing hard for these next couple of games. We’ve got CSK and then KXIP. I don’t want us to get complacent and take things for granted at this stage of the tournament because things are going well”, said Ponting.
