Jaden McDaniels and the Minnesota Timberwolves are walking the walk against the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic. Jokic’s struggles continued in Game 4 as his rough stretch extended to three games in this series.

The Timberwolves have taken a 3-1 lead in their first-round series against the Nuggets. They registered a convincing 112-96 victory over Jokic and his men at the Target Center on Saturday night. However, at the end of the game, McDaniels and Jokic had a heated altercation that saw a couple of ejections.

After the game, McDaniels remained unbothered by the turn of events at the end of the game.

No, I don’t know what he said. All I saw was someone that’s big as hell. The clock still be running, so I’m about to go score. I don’t know, the game still had time on the clock for real. I feel what I said and I just come to hoop every night, it don’t really matter who we play against.

Jaden McDaniels has been in the spotlight over the last few days for his comments on the Nuggets’ defense. He called out Nikola Jokic and other Nuggets players by name when he spoke about his team’s offensive strategy. His comments did not go down well within the NBA community, considering they were still in the middle of the series. But it has sparked a heated rivalry between the two sides.

In the dying seconds of Game 5, the Timberwolves had to just wait for the final whistle to seal the game. However, McDaniels opted to take a wide-open layup, while the Nuggets had accepted their fate and had no one to defend on their end of the court.

The layup wasn’t received well by Jokic, who charged at the Wolves forward before other players and staff separated them. The heated moment led to the ejections of Jokic and Julius Randle. The NBA are likely to issue a statement and some fines in the near future.

Julius Randle is just focused on Game 5

Julius Randle has not been at his very best in the playoffs so far. But he did not fail to make the headlines on Saturday night. With 1.3 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Nikola Jokic and Randle were both ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

While speaking to the media, Randle was asked about the incident that took place, which led to his ejection.

I don’t know. We’re just ready for game 5.

The Wolves may be up 3-1, but they will need to see more from Randle in Game 5 after injuries to Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo in Game 4. Randle will need to play a crucial role to close out this series.

David Adelman takes shots at Jaden McDaniels

While Jaden McDaniels’ layup is not against the rules of the game, it is seen as unsportsmanlike when the game is all but done. Hence, Nikola Jokic raced off and confronted the 25-year-old.

Speaking on the incident, Nuggets head coach David Adelman revealed that he was not a fan of what McDaniels did.

I didn’t like what McDaniels did. The game was over…in 2026 that stuff just doesn’t happen anymore that’s something that happens in the 80s where teams would continue to score, but that’s who he is.

It looks like McDaniels has embraced the “villain” tag in this series. The Wolves star can expect to face a lot of boos when they travel to Denver for Game 5 on Monday night.
