- Jannik Sinner won his second clay title at the Monte Carlo Masters, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
- He was recently spotted enjoying a scooter ride in Monaco with his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic.
- Sinner will compete next at the Madrid Open, while Alcaraz will miss the tournament due to injury.
Jannik Sinner is enjoying some much-needed downtime in Monaco, where he has been living since 2020. Sinner returned to Monte Carlo for the season’s first Masters 1000 on clay.
Although he was one of the favorites to win, when he entered the final, many expected Carlos Alcaraz to win. But the Italian ace stunned the two-time Roland Garros champion in straight sets, winning his career’s second clay title and his first at the tournament, and after this season, he never progressed past the semifinals.
Sinner then chose not to play last week in either the Barcelona Open or the Munich Open, the two ATP 500 events on clay. But he will return to action for the Madrid Open, the main draw of which is set to start on April 22.
In the Monte Carlo final, apart from his parents and team members, his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic also watched him win the trophy. With Hasanovic, Sinner was recently seen enjoying a bike ride in The Principality.

Upon seeing the clip on X, some fans jokingly asked him whether he had gotten his bike license because Sinner admitted in one of his vlogs, upon being asked by coach Darren Cahill, that he failed his bike license three times.
Sinner has been dating the Danish model since mid-2025 after his split with ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya. The 24-year-old confirmed that he’s in a relationship with Hasanovic during his winner’s speech at the 2025 Vienna Open.
Boris Becker has identified three players who can challenge the dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Since the 2024 season, only Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have won Grand Slam titles, winning a combined nine titles at this level. They, in fact, played three of the four Major finals last year. Recently, at an event for the Laureus Awards, Boris Becker named three youngsters who he thinks can challenge the duopoly of the World No.1 and the World No.2. And they are: Joao Fonseca, Arthur Fils, and Learner Tien.

I’m still particularly keen to look at the younger players. I really like Arthur Fils’ return after being injured for a long time last year. I like how he’s playing this year. Final in Doha, semifinal in Miami. At 21, if he stays in good physical condition, I think he can challenge Alcaraz and Sinner for a Grand Slam title in the future. He just needs to avoid further injuries and keep going like this.
Fonseca has already won two tour-level titles, including an ATP 500 trophy. Fils recently played in the final of the Qatar Open, but he lost to Alcaraz. He also reached the title clash of the Barcelona Open. Tien has so far played two finals, winning last year’s Moselle Open.
And then there’s also Fonseca, of course. He’s had some good tournaments, but I think his future is even brighter. All these players still need to refine their game. They need to be there when it really counts. Not just in practice or in the quarterfinals of every tournament. They need to be present in the semifinals of major tournaments. That’s where Sinner and Alcaraz are at their strongest.
Boris Becker added
Sinner will next be seen in action at the Madrid Open, but Alcaraz will be skipping the tournament because of an injury he suffered during the Barcelona Open. As Sinner has no point to defend in the Spanish capital, winning the tournament will help him increase the ranking gap between him and the seven-time Major champion.
The 24-year-old dethroned the Spaniard from the top spot after winning the Monte-Carlo Masters. Last year on the clay swing, Sinner reached the final of the Italian Open and the French Open.
