One of the biggest highlights from Tom Brady‘s Netflix Roast was the on-stage tension between the NFL legend and Jeff Ross when the latter roasted the former with Robert Kraft‘s “massage” joke. But what made everyone stunned at that moment was when Brady got from his seat and went up on the stage to ‘warn’ the comedian.
But it turns out, that was far from the reality. During the recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Ross clarified what exactly happened there. Brady was heard reprimanding the prominent comedian, who was invited by Netflix to roast the seven-time Super Bowl champion: “Don’t say that s**t again.”
Come on, come on, no way, no way. He was having fun. You know, it’s like that’s his dad. Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him, he was just showing his love for Robert Kraft.Jeff Ross told Rich Eisen, clearing the misunderstanding.
Moreover, Ross also revealed that the New England Patriots owner was actually very happy with him for giving him a shoutout during his set at Netflix’s “Greatest Roast of All Time,” on Sunday. He and Kraft also had a “great talk afterwards,” which Ross referred to as beautiful.
How Jeff Ross’s roast revives Robert Kraft’s old scandal?
During the comedian Ross’s roast set, he shared the famous story of the NFL legend at the very beginning of his career when he was drafted by the Patriots in 2000. Ross recalled how Brady went to Kraft’s office to thank him and said he made the best decision with the quarterback.
Tom [Brady] became a Patriot, moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft’s office and said ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.said Jeff Ross
And when it appeared that would be the end of that joke, he dropped the punchline, “Would you like a massage?”
It was an old reference to the Patriots owner’s arrest in 2019 for soliciting prostitution in a massage parlor in Florida. Though the charges were dropped the next year, Ross couldn’t help but bring up the old incident in his joke. He even blew a kiss at Kraft, sitting among the audience after the joke.
