Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has a love-hate relationship with his fans as he works hard to try to bring back the glory days the franchise once enjoyed.
Three seasons ago, they were turning on him, and quite deservedly. The 83-year-old had claimed that he was all-in on the team’s intentions to compete for a Super Bowl, but did not have the offseason moves or roster adjustments to back it up.
Then, the Micah Parsons trade took the hatred towards him up quite a few notches. Fans felt that he had proven time and again that he had lost the plot, and it was better that he relinquished his GM chair.
As stubborn as the energy magnate is, Jones did not let the criticisms affect him and went to work, overhauling the Cowboys’ defense.
After several impressive and eye-popping moves, there is a belief that America’s team finally has the players with whom it could compete for the Vince Lombardi trophy.
That should coincide with a change in fans’ behavior towards Jerry Jones, or at least that is what he may have thought heading into the 2026 season.

I think I’m gonna go eat at a French restaurant and a Spanish restaurant tonight to celebrate what they’ve done for our country.

To his credit, Jerry Jones had given up his suite so that FIFA President Gianni Infantino and other dignitaries could watch from the best seats in the house.
Moreover, the jumbotron displayed the latter immediately after Jones was on the screen. Therefore, some might argue that the boos were for Infantino over some alleged decisions. However, those who were keen-eyed pointed out that the boos started when Jones was on the screen.
Jerry Jones loses offseason signing to 3-game suspension
The boos were not the only bit of bad news awaiting Jerry Jones on this day. A short while later, he received some news that could affect the overhauled Cowboys’ defense, at least in the first three games.

DE Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the season because of a DUI. The news of his personal conduct violation was on today’s wire.

That means he is a depth addition and will not be called into action immediately. However, in the event one of the starters gets injured, the franchise will be bothered by the fact that they will not have the pass rusher at their disposal for something that did not occur during his time with the Cowboys.
This DUI incident dates back to 2024 when he was still with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the league decided it was time to reprimand him.
