Tom Brady is about to embark on his new role as an analyst on FOX’s top NFL broadcast team in week 1 of the NFL season. His 10-year $375 million deal suggests that he will be earning more than ever he could do while playing.

However, it does not rule out the legend from coming out of retirement. At least Joe Buck would not bet against it. Chris O’Gorman of Questions for Cancer Research was interviewing Joe Buck and asked him the question about Brady’s unretiring.

I would never bet against him. I feel like he said that with a kind of twinkle in his eye. But I think that would be a stretch. But if there is anybody who could do it, I would say it’s him. If there is anybody who’s going to stay in shape so he could do it, I would say it would be him. I think all these guys want to be wanted. But this is the NFL. Long answer, could he do it? Yeah. Would he do it? I think all the planets would have to align for something like that to happen.

Buck knows that Tom Brady is a different type of player. His competitive spirit could push him to make a comeback if he wants.

The ESPN analyst goes as far as to say that the 7-time Super Bowl champion could even guide a team to the postseason. The way he keeps himself in top shape and with his mind and the experience he has gained, it will not be too difficult for Brady to step onto a field again.

However, a lot will have to be worked out in order for that to happen. Football is an unforgiving sport. More importantly, the NFL will look at it from a business standpoint. Leading to obstacles for a potential comeback from retirement.

Tom Brady increasing his imprint on sports

For Tom Brady, the Fox deal is the best way to keep his association with football at the forefront. As he claimed during the roast, football is the love of his life. However, he has also made his forays into other sports.

In 2023 he became a minority owner in the WNBA franchise Las Vegas Aces, owned by Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis. He also has purchased a minority stake in soccer club Birmingham City. Add to all this, he has also applied to become a minority owner of the Raiders. Which the NFL has yet to approve.

If he does become a part of the ownership of the Raiders, it will stop him from coming out of retirement. Otherwise, as Joe Buck said, the door is still open, except for a few obstacles.
