- Josh Jacobs faces five domestic violence charges, including battery and strangulation.
- He denies the allegations through his attorneys, claiming the investigation is ongoing.
- Fans express confusion over his denial and question why he turned himself in if innocent.
Professional athletes are revered for their athletic abilities and competitive spirit. Then, when those two talents are used to cross the lines, just as Josh Jacobs has allegedly done, those same cheering fans are the first to criticize them.
The 28-year-old was a revelation for the Green Bay Packers for the past two seasons, as he shouldered the offensive burden when their receivers struggled to stay healthy.
Even though he may not have eclipsed what could have been his fifth 1000-yard rushing season, his impact for the Wisconsin-based team has been unquestionable.
Now, his four-year, $48 million contract seems to be a bargain, as other top-tier rushers have gone on to sign much more lucrative deals.
It is not as if he is struggling for money, or he is having a hard time on the field. That is why fans were having a hard time understanding why the Alabama alum lost his cool enough to be slapped with five charges.
As per Ian Rapoport, Wisconsin’s Hobart-Lawrence Police Department booked the running back into the Brown County Jail on Tuesday.

He was charged with battery – domestic abuse, criminal damage to property – domestic abuse, disorderly conduct – domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
On morning of May 23, authorities responded to a disturbance complaint. But they did not have Josh Jacobs on site. Eventually, he turned himself in on Tuesday.

Earlier, Rapoport also got his hands on a statement from the Packers star’s attorneys. They claim that he ‘vehemently denies the allegations’ as the investigation is still ongoing.
Fans tear into Josh Jacobs for denial despite charges
NFL stars getting into domestic violence situations is not new to football fans. There have been plenty, and the league has also done its part in slapping them with appropriate suspensions.
In Josh Jacobs’ case, fans felt that five charges were sure to get him a lengthy suspension outside of whatever law enforcement decides. But for him to deny it outright left fans confused.
Many felt that if the allegations were wrong, why did the three-time Pro Bowler have to turn himself in? They believe he is guilty and should be punished. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Right because an innocent man turns himself in 👍

Never heard a player say yep I did that it was me

The league will suspend a guy longer for betting $20 than for domestic violence

I don't get why these pro athletes struggle so much with controlling their rage off the field. You'd think getting hit for a living would make them better at handling pressure and keeping their cool, not worse. They channel it just fine on Sundays, but apparently not in real…
— Josman (@TheDadspective) May 26, 2026
Yeah… obviously… did you think he would just to admit to crimes that will send him to prison and ruin his career?
— Dennis (@Dennis73354116) May 27, 2026
Why are the charges always the same on these guys.
— Reaganman18 (@Reaganman18) May 26, 2026
Not saying he did it or not, but if there was a playbook on how to destroy an athlete it seems to be the same stuff all the time.
These athletes don’t know how to keep themselves together 😑

Josh Jacobs and his attorneys believe many parts of the allegations have not come to light. Therefore, they want the investigation to be completed before the public starts pointing fingers at him. But that is easier said than done.
Josh Jacobs’ link to Caleb Williams’ ex blows up on social media
In this day and age of social media, it is hard for anyone in the public eye to face online scrutiny. Usually, it is Jacobs’ comments about his football career that make headlines.

Those narratives, though, do not blow up the way a domestic violence arrest does. As soon as the Oklahoma native was in the news, those on social media started digging into the unnamed woman who may have called the cops on the running back.
Over the past few months, Jacobs and influencer Ash Kaash have posted cozy videos of each other. He even went on to talk about possibly marrying her in the future.

“Time will tell… You ain’t never seen me public with a bih… I been talking to her since 2021.”

This is the same woman Bears’ QB Caleb Williams was dating a while ago. Now, social media believes that Kaash might be the one who called the cops on the one-time All-Pro.
