Kawhi Leonard is at a precarious moment in his career. He is coming off his best offensive season in terms of individual numbers, but over the last few months, he and the Los Angeles Clippers have been caught up in a number of alleged scandals.
It is a no-brainer that Leonard’s spell with the Clippers has been anything but successful. Things did not work out on the court due to injuries and health, but it looks like a lot was happening off the court as well, and there could be consequences for it.
Leonard and the Clippers are already being investigated over the Aspiration scandal. However, over the last few weeks, investigations have suggested that more deals were made to circumvent the salary cap.
While investigations surrounding Leonard continue, the two-time champion announced that he will face a popular street baller in a 1-on-1 game in Wuhan on August 22.
August 22 at the Wuhan, right? I’m booking my ticket right now. Yup — I got you at the Wuhan. I’m locking all y’all up.

Leonard is heading off to China and will begin his first-ever visit to Hong Kong with a special event on August 15. It is for the upcoming Katch x Kawhi Leonard Asia Tour.
The controversy surrounding Leonard and the Clippers began before the 2025-26 campaign got underway. It was reported that American billionaire and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer redirected $28 million to Leonard. It was a sponsorship deal to circumvent the salary cap.
While Balmer denied the allegations back in September, investigations have shown that more deals took place between the two parties. Further investigations revealed that Leonard even secured an undisclosed multimillion-dollar sponsorship with Daktronics.
The further allegations have led to more controversy and even saw Stephen A. Smith demand a one-year suspension for Balmer and Leonard if the findings are true. However, it looks like Leonard is staying away from all the noise and is in the mood to have a good time in his offseason.
Fans react to Kawhi Leonard’s China tour announcement
Leonard is a star who usually stays away from the public eye. He is not seen as a marketable figure, as he is a very private person and stays away from the cameras. Unfortunately, the recent investigations have put him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
Following his Wuhan announcement, the viral clip caught several fans by surprise as it is something Leonard does not usually sign up for.
that dude is definitely guilty, bro never acts like this 😭

Fans were left baffled by Leonard’s announcement. Some joked that Leonard may be handed a suspension or a ban for all the allegations he is facing and, therefore, is trying to make a name for himself overseas.
Kawhi Leonard reacts to a Chinese street baller scoring 60 points on Paul George
Kawhi Leonard is one of the greatest defenders of all time. He won his first Finals MVP award for his defense on LeBron James in the 2014 NBA Finals. However, over the years, he developed into an elite offensive player and became one of the best two-way players in the league.

A few days ago, a video was posted in which Leonard was seen poking fun at his former teammate, Paul George, after he found out that a Chinese street baller scored 60 points on him.
This guy’s over here playing pros and scored 60 points on Paul George. Who is this? There’s no way he’s going to score 10 points on me. I’ll lock this dude up; he looks trash.

George is a solid defender himself, but Leonard is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors in the summer, but the move has been put on hold as the NBA investigates his secret dealings with the Clippers.
