SmackDown was a stacked show this week. The triple-threat main event featured the trio of Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, and Rey Mysterio. It was a match for a championship opportunity at Backlash in France. However, before the action kicked off in the ring, the Prizefighter wanted to drop some bombs on his opponents. In a pre-match promo, Owens called out Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio, referring to him as a “huge disappointment.”

The former Universal Champion tried to bring down his opponents, by throwing jabs at them. He mentioned a similarity between himself and Rey Mysterio by saying they both have sons who are taller than them. However, the Canadian Superstar called his son ‘awesome’ while claiming that Mysterio’s son is a huge disappointment and an idiot. It was a straight-up shot at Dominik Mysterio, who gets a lot of heat from the fans because of his disgraceful actions against his father.

Furthermore, Dominik has attacked his father multiple times over the past year. Therefore, KO tried to point out the shame the Master of 619 has in calling the Judgment Day member his son. Kevin Owens didn’t stop there, as he called out AJ Styles and took some shots at his recent beef with LA Knight. However, only talking trash doesn’t take you far in WWE, as the three superstars would prove so by tearing the house down later on.

Moreover, Owens was unsuccessful in making his dreams come true as The Phenomenal One emerged victorious. Besides, the Prizefighter had an amazing match at WrestleMania against Logan Paul and Randy Orton. It is going to be interesting to see where the future of the former Universal Champion is headed after being involved in back-to-back major losses in a week.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Owens stated that he has no goals remaining for him in WWE, at least none that he has set for the future. He is content with what he has achieved for the company. However, if he has another WrestleMania left in him, he would like to face Finn Balor as well.

I've never had a singles match against Rey Mysterio. If I have another WrestleMania in me, I'd love to wrestle Finn Balor there. But as far as just goals, I think I've had it so good; I really can't ask for more.

Furthermore, the Canadian Superstar also stated that he never had a one-on-one match with Rey Mysterio. Therefore, he also looks forward to that. Since defeating John Cena in his debut match, Owens has definitely exceeded a lot of fans’ expectations.
